A message from the NZILA Firth Wānanga 2025 Creative Panel
Kia ora koutou,
As tempting as it is to stay distracted or busy in our own rohe, I highly recommend journeying to Heretaunga for the NZILA 2025 conference to grow relationships with the wider landscape profession and be inspired by speakers not only from the profession but, also specialists/ entrepreneurs who have unique insights to share on their journey with landscape and how it informs how we live now and in an increasingly sensitive future.
Let’s be honest. The conference is themed around food and landscape and who doesn’t like food and whenua in our profession?

Getting there
The Hastings CBD, where the NZILA Firth Wānanga 2025 will be held, includes the newly refurbished Toitoi – Hawke’s Bay Arts & Events centre encompassing the Opera House and Municipal Building. This beautiful new development in the heart of Hastings city provides historical charm paired with the latest modern functionality.
Hawke’s Bay is accessible by land or air, and definitely worth the trip. While Hastings, the location of our event, has relatively limited accommodation options, there’s plenty to consider in Napier and Havelock North!
We will be running a coach service from Napier (and Havelock North if the demand requires) to and from the Wānanga venue each day for our event delegates.
Our 3pm finish on Friday 23 May allows time to get to the airport for connections through to Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.

Air New Zealand are having a domestic sale so it's a great time to book. Sale ends midnight 28 February.
