Landscape Architecture and Open Space Planning Competition
The Peter Joseph Lenné Prize will be awarded again this year by the state of Berlin. It is the most important international competition for young landscape architects, planners, scientists and artists.
The Peter Joseph Lenné Prize of the State of Berlin is awarded every two years and is regarded as the world‘s largest competition for young creative people under the age of 35.
TASK A - REGIONAL - BERLIN
Creative vision for the campus of the art academy Berlin Weißensee
The Berlin-Weißensee Academy of Art has been training artists and de- signers in the tradition of the Bauhaus since 1946. Within the framework of an urban development project, the site will be expanded in an innovative way and connected to the neighborhood.
Which creative, forward-looking concepts and open space planning measures can be used to create public, semi-public or public spaces, new opportunities for participation and values for the whole neighborhood? How can roof sur- faces, facades and interior structure of the campus be integrated?

TASK B - NATIONAL - CHEMNITZ
City at the river - green belt from the centre to the castle
In 2025 Chemnitz will be the official European Capital of Culture. This event is associated with cultural initiatives and long-term projects for urban de- velopment. One central theme is “City at a River” - revitalization of the river Chemnitz as an important leisure and living space for the city‘s population.
The task in the Lenné competition is to show how open spaces from different eras can be successfully linked together, how urban planning deficiencies can be corrected, and how selected areas can be redesigned to meet the current framework of the city and its needs.
TASK C - INTERNATIONAL – BUDAPEST
Landscape architectural design of the forest area Terebesi
The city of Budapest intends to increase the amount of urban green space in the coming years. The 36-hectare Terebesi forest on the Pest side of the city offers great potential. A graduated concept consisting of a park and a near-natural park forest can be implemented here.
The task in the Lenné competition is to develop the Terebesi into a sustainable and diversely usable green space for leisure and recreation. The aim is to create attractive park landscapes that promote green connectivity and biodiversity in Budapest.
