NZPI is looking for two consultants to deliver a foundational training course on spatial planning.

Long term regional spatial planning has broad political support and is highly likely to be a feature of any new planning system.  We wish to set the profession up for success and, through the delivery of this introductory level training, can support more people in the profession to hit the ground running on future spatial planning programmes.

We're after two consultants to develop and deliver a workshop series in multiple locations around the country during July and August 2026 (TBC).  We are collaborating with Taituarā on these workshops.  There will be some joint content at the start of the day and then we'll separate into two workstreams which reflect the core interests, skills and experience of members from NZPI and Taituarā.  This workshop series has been developed following conversations with MfE.

If you have practical spatial planning experience and experience leading training workshops, please see the Request for Proposals

Proposals are due by 5pm Friday 17th April 2026.  Any questions, please contact Liz.Moncrieff@planning.org.nz

Note: one of the RFP requirements is to be an NZPI member, including associate members.
