Pathway to Registered Membership via Affiliate Route

Want to become Registered in 2026? Apply by 1 August
Applications to become Registered in 2026 close on 1 August. Don't forget there's more than one pathway!
Are you an Affiliate Member ready to take the next step toward becoming Registered? Here's your roadmap:
Eligibility Checklist:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Design, Urban Design, or Planning
- 400+ weeks (approx. 10 years) of landscape architecture practice, including 4 years in Aotearoa New Zealand
- Experience within a team/organisation that includes at least one Registered Member (or equivalent overseas)
- Completion of the Graduate mentoring process, including a signed-off portfolio reviewed by the Registration Panel
Ready to Begin?
- Choose a Mentor – select a Registered Landscape Architect (CPD requirements must be current) who agrees you’re ready to start.
- Mentorship period – typically 60–90 weeks.
