Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu
🌟 Kia ora rawa atu! Thank you to our volunteers! 🌟
It's Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu (National Volunteer Week) and we want to celebrate our members who give their time to keep Tuia Pito Ora moving and growing! You input is instrumental to the success of the Institute.
THANK YOU to the panels, committees and working groups, the mentors and advisors, the speakers and facilitators, and everyone who gives time in some way. As the Board transitions to the next iteration next week, we sincerely thank those outgoing, staying, and incoming for the hard mahi both past and ahead.
Did you know? Mahi aroha is the closest te reo Maōri phrase for volunteering, meaning unpaid work done with love. Grounded in tikanga Māori, mahi aroha is the unpaid work done with aroha, manaakitanga, and whanaungatanga.
📸 Here are a selection of images from last month in Heretaunga from our national events - members and volunteers connecting, celebrating, learning, helping.

The annual President's Function is a small thank you for your time - want an invite next year? Give some time - the more the merrier! The function is a thank you and a celebration of those going over and above, those newly registered, new Fellows, new Life Members.
Our annual conference is a chance to connect across the motu, come together to learn and grow, share knowledge and take action. The event wouldn't happen without many hours of mahi from volunteers - local in the branch and Te Tau a Nuku, speakers, facilitators, student volunteers, working groups input, and others.
INTO THE FUTURE
We're looking at the structures and supports for volunteering with the Institute and want to hear your thoughts. If you have ideas about what you'd like to see or participate in, or you want to know more about opportunities that exist, or want to let us know why you do/don't give time - please complete this short form or email events@nzila.co.nz.
