Lincoln University Award Winners for 2024

Congratulations!
Lincoln University's top landscape architecture students were recognised with the presentation of the NZILA Student Awards at the Canterbury/Westland branch AGM held at Boffa Miskell's Christchurch office on Thursday 6 March.
Some NZILA Board members and team were in Ōtautahi for a planning day and were delighted to be able to join the occasion. Debbie Tikao, NZILA President, presented the following, which are awarded annually:
The NZILA Award of Excellence - 2nd year of the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (calculated from the highest GPA 200 courses so far) to Leni Frampton

The NZILA Award of Excellence - 3rd year of the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (calculated from the highest GPA in 300 courses so far) to Josh Whelan

The NZILA/ Robin Gay Award of Excellence to Daniel Watt, who upon completion of the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree, has demonstrated the highest level of achievement in academic and studio work (calculated from the highest overall GPA for the BLA degree).

Robin Gay, the namesake of this award was a NZILA Life Member who passed away in December 2008. Mr Gay was honoured with Life Membership of the Institute during 2001 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development of the Institute and that of the landscape architecture profession. He was also Vice-President of IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects) in the early 1980s.
Daniel Watt was also presented with his award for the 2024 Vectorworks Landmark Student Scholarship.

Also presented during the evening:
The Boffa Miskell Prize was awarded to Josh Whelan in the (3rd year) of the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture.

The Peter Rough Prize was awarded to Daniel Watt and Josh Jones gaining the highest final mark in LASC 409 Major Design.

The Chris Glasson Prize was awarded to Victoria Dawes gaining the highest final mark in LASC 617 Major Design.
