Nau mai haere mai - Welcome to the new Chair & Deputy Chair
We are delighted to announce that Debbie Tikao and John Potter have been appointed as Chair/President and Deputy Chair/Vice President (respectively) as at yesterdays inaugural board meeting.
Due to the changes in governance and our new constitution 3.4 (b) The Chair will act as President of the Institute and the Deputy Chair shall hold the position of Vice President.
A korero and handover took place between the departing Executive Committee, the new Board, and the management team during the two-hour online meeting.
A message from your new Chair and Deputy Chair :
Tuia Pito Ora is undergoing change to better meet the demands of a growing industry and a changing world. We have a strong and experienced board and an eager and capable management team. Collectively we’ll be guiding this waka through many shifting currents. As landscape architects, we are uniquely positioned to be Hautū - leaders and innovators – in areas of climate adaptation and as weavers of a dual world view enabling an Aotearoa as a living, physical expression of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We want to whakamana our members, so that they are armed with the knowledge and tools needed to face these challenges. We both feel very humble by our appointments, and we are ready for the task ahead.
Tāmatatia te whenua hai oranga mō ngā uri whakaheke.
Revive the land to provide sustenance for the generations to come.
Debbie & John
