The Nohonga (seat) design challenge

The Nohonga (seat) design challenge is a new collaboration between Brick Bay and the Auckland Branch of the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects Tuia Pito Ora who are challenging students and all levels of graduated landscape architects to design and construct creative nohonga for the citizens of Tāmaki Makaurau.

Entries closed 15 May, 2020, submissions have been judged and three of the finalists seats have been constructed and installed at Britomart for the duration of November. Bioluminescence has also been completed and is now installed at Brick Bay in the pecan orchard. In December the remaining Nohonga will move to Brick Bay for the summer.
