A formal EOI process will be open until 12pm Monday, 3 September 2018.
Developers, architects and community builders who want to make their mark with a residential development in central Christchurch are being asked to register their interest in the 8149m2 Madras Square site.
Ōtākaro Limited Strategy and Property Opportunities General Manager, Keith Beal says interested parties are encouraged to be innovative in their development plans.
“This is not just about the bottom line for divestment of the site, it is about working together to get construction underway on a development that people want to call home.
If you think you have a plan and the capability to deliver homes that do something a little different in terms of design, construction, communal spaces or affordability, we’d like to hear it.”
The site is near the popular Margaret Mahy Family Playground and Latimer Square and is bordered by Madras, Gloucester and Armagh Streets.
“We all want to see more people living in the central city. A site of this size and this close to the CBD is not going to come along often, anywhere.”
“With Rauora Park and Manchester Street complete or close to it, other major projects progressing well and confidence in the city growing, we believe now is a good time to make this site available,” says Mr Beal.
Interested parties should email property@otakaroltd.co.nz or visit otakaroltd.co.nz/madrassquare for more information.
A formal EOI process will be open until 12pm Monday, 3 September 2018.
