Are you a Landscape Architect looking for the next meaningful step in your career? We are looking for a Senior / Associate to join our Auckland team at Barker & Associates (B&A) - one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest specialist planning and urban design consultancies.

The Role

In this role, you’ll provide high-quality landscape architecture services across a diverse range of projects, for a variety of private and public sector clients. You’ll lead your own projects, while helping to mentor and develop the team and contribute to the wider direction of the company.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading a range of projects in the Auckland region and across New Zealand
  • Preparing site & context analysis to support due diligence reports or inform concept/structure planning
  • Managing budgets, timelines, and reviewing work prepared by junior and intermediate planning staff
  • Preparing Landscape and Visual Assessments independently (including graphic supplements)
  • Scoping and preparing tender documents and fee proposals
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships

About You

  • An undergraduate degree in landscape architecture and a Registered member of the NZILA (or working towards it)
  • 5+ years of experience (ideally within NZ)
  • Excellent visual presentation skills and a high degree of computer literacy and proficiency with relevant software products (including at a minimum Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD)
  • Proactive approach with the ability to manage personal workload, work efficiently and deliver within timeframes
  • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills
