Senior Landscape Architect
Tauranga Bay of Plenty
At Momentum Planning and Design (MPAD), we’re a tight-knit consultancy based in sunny Tauranga, working collaboratively in planning, landscape architecture, and urban design. We collaborate with a range of partner firms to deliver bespoke, multidisciplinary solutions—and we love what we do.
We’re on the lookout for a Senior Landscape Architect who ideally is NZILA registered, is passionate about design and has a broad overall capability. You will also provide a landscape lens to both our policy and consenting work. Working side-by-side with our planning, urban design and landscape architecture staff across a mix of exciting projects—from large-scale development master planning and consenting, to contributing to and managing the delivery of a wide range of landscape design, urban design and visual impact assessments (LVIA).
Why you’ll love working with us:
- You’ll be part of a boutique team with deep planning roots who have a keen interest in good design.
- Get direct access to decision-makers and experienced professionals. • No two days are the same—you’ll enjoy a huge variety of work.
- Work with a genuinely supportive and fun team.
- We are located right in central Tauranga, close to both projects, numerous partner firms and Council stakeholders, and the beach.
You're a great fit if:
- Have 8+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture
- Are NZILA registered
- Have the confidence to mentor others and lead conversations with clarity, while also being capable of delivering expert landscape evidence when required.
- Can produce well written LVIA’s for use in planning processes (resource consents and plan changes) and enjoy the resource management side of the profession
- Are comfortable engaging with clients and collaborating with planners, architects, and other consultants
- Thrive in a solutions-focused, fast-paced environment
- Stay up to date with landscape and urban design trends and best practice, including relevant sustainability and environmental practices.
- Bring strong technical skills across design, construction, and software (AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, MS Office, and hand drawing)
This is your chance to be part of a highly dedicated planning and design team, to work on meaningful local and regional projects in the Bay of Plenty as well as across the North Island, and to shape your career in one of New Zealand’s most beautiful regions.
Whether you’re already based in the Bay or thinking about making the move, if you’re keen to join the MPAD team and be part of a creative, supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you. Send your CV through to richard@mpad.co.nz
