About the team - Ko te rōpū nei

The Technical Services and Design Unit who are an in-house shared service comprised of technical and design professionals responsible for providing specialist advice and services across the Council.

About the role - Ko te mahi nei

Sitting in the Landscape Architecture and Environment team, the CAD Draughtsperson is responsible for the following:

  • Utilising advanced skills in VectorWorks, ArcGIS and/or MicroStation/AutoCAD to meet the draughting requirements requested
  • Preparing 3D visualisations, publicity, consultation and other graphical material
  • Preparing base plans showing existing topographical data, cadastral boundaries, services and aerial photos
  • Constructively contributing to multi-discipline project teams covering both the design and implementation phases of projects
  • Maintaining relationships between the Technical Services and Design team and the internal and external stakeholders

About you - Ko Koe Tēnei

Our project needs span across multiple teams; so, you will have clear communication and strong collaboration skills. You deliver and receive information with ease, and you are comfortable when building and maintaining relationships between the team, internal groups and with external stakeholders.

You will also bring:

  • a qualification in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering (Civil), Construction, Draughting or similar
  • three to five years of relevant post-qualification draughting and design experience
  • advanced capability with VectorWorks, ArcGIS and/or MicroStation/AutoCAD
  • advanced computer skills in the Microsoft Office environment.

  • Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week
  • Position - Permanent, full-time
  • Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices
  • Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $74,394 to $82,660 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles
