SoLA Seminar Series: Reanimation of abandoned places

You are invited to the SoLA (School of Landscape Architecture at Lincoln University) seminar series that comprises a range of expert-led talks that are scheduled throughout semesters. The intention is to bring insights from practitioners, researchers, and community partners for discourse across cultural, environmental, and practical dimensions in landscape architecture.

The upcoming seminar is presented by Karel Jílek from the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague

Karel Jílek Biography

Karel Jílek is a Ph.D. candidate in Regional and Social Development at the Faculty of Economics and Management, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. His research focuses on abandoned settlements and cultural landscapes in Czech border regions, especially how people relate to place and how these areas are being revitalized. He leads seminars for undergraduate students in regional studies and is interested in new approaches to teaching, including the use of AI. He also has experience in projects related to public sector communication and cultural cooperation.
