SoLA Seminar Series | Wānanga Kōrero: Alan Titchener (SoLA Alumni) Ngāti Mamoe, Ngāi Tahu (free event)
10 Sep, Online & Lincoln University

CPD points: 1.0
Storytelling is a means to acknowledge past people and events as well as a way to explain and strengthen connection to place. In Te Ao Maori, kōrero tuku iho (the telling of ancient stories handed down inter-generationally) provides a mechanism for demonstrating truisms and norms of ethical behaviour.
At this wananga, Alan Titchener (Ngati Mamoe, Ngai Tahu) will briefly describe five projects which are particularly memorable to him—one for each decade of his career as a landscape architect. Alan will explain the context and objectives of each project, the people he worked with, the lessons learned, and what made them memorable to him.
Alan is a Lincoln alumnus, having studied landscape architecture at what was then Lincoln College in 1973-74. He is a Life Member of Tuia Pito Ora (NZILA) and a member of the Nga Aho Kāhui Whetu.
