About

Join us for the last instalment of 2026 in the Urban Group International Speaker Series, where we hear from Robbie Budge.

Robbie will be presenting his journey from New Zealand to Norway, his career so far with Snøhetta and how their methodology has developed over the last 35 years.

The presentation will explore the importance of landscape in the work that Snøhetta conducts and how landscape thinking reaches beyond the conventional typologies of landscape architecture.

Through the exploration of case studies Robbie will delve into the essential role that landscape and context has within all of Snøhetta’s projects, from product design to cultural buildings.

Robbie Budge

Robbie is a Senior Landscape Architect and Project Leader at Snøhetta, an international design practice whose work spans an extensive range of scales, disciplines, and contexts.

For the last 8 years he has been based out of Oslo where his work has focused on the interdisciplinary relationship between landscape and architecture, manifested in typologies ranging from large cultural projects to masterplans.

Born in Scotland, raised and educated in Aotearoa New Zealand, Robbie’s upbringing in rural environments has had a distinct impact on how he approaches his practice where the themes of cultural landscape and placemaking form a strong foundation to his methodology.

Huge thanks to Urban Group for making this series possible.
