Events Calendar

The IFLA World Council will take place on Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 September 2023. The IFLA World Congress follows on immediately afterwards.

The main venue for the IFLA World Council is in central Nairobi. There will also be a video link to a Swedish venue, the Architects Sweden office in Stockholm.

We’re hoping there will some opportunity for online connection and involvement as well.

Registration
All attendees for the IFLA World Council must register to attend in advance. If your association cannot attend but wishes to assign a proxy you must still register.

Deadline for World Council registration is Monday 21st August.

Please note you must register for the IFLA World Congress separately to the World Council.

Accommodation
Nairobi (main council location) - there are some recommended hotels in Nairobi on the congress website here. Although the exact council venue in Nairobi is TBC guests at any of the recommended hotels will be ideally situated for the council.

Stockholm (alternative council location - connected digitally) - there are some recommended hotels in Stockholm on the congress website here.

Travel
Depending on location there are various things such as visas to consider, we suggest checking your governments foreign travel advice for more information about visiting Sweden or Kenya, plus the congress website has more guidance

• for Kenya see here. Please note the organisers have advised that it is much easier to get a tourist visa rather than a business one. They also recommend having paper copies of correspondence even if you get QR codes etc.
