Peter Cox
BEng, MSc, FRSA, Founding Member and Managing Director at Carrig Conservation International Ltd
Peter Cox has a primary degree in chemical engineering and a masters in material science and has over thirty five years international experience in the analysis of decay of masonry and the treatment of stone and mortar in conservation of historic buildings. Peter is an expert in embod- ied and embedded carbon in existing buildings, and, since 2012, he has been President of the ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Energy, Sustainability & Climate Change. In 2019 Peter was elected a fellow of the RSA for services to conservation and sustainability. Peter sits on a number of international committees, working with Governments to improve legislation and policies on conservation in general and on energy efficiency in heritage and traditional building stock.
Abstract
Carrig are at the forefront of research, policy and strategies for assessing the impact of the changing climate and on the energy retrofit of existing building stock as a “Climate Action”.
The webinar will address the topics of material science and its role in conservation; energy efficiency in traditional and heritage buildings; and climate change and its effect on heritage.
