who we are
The NZILA is the internationally recognised professional body of qualified landscape architects in New Zealand. Its foundation dates after 1972 when a vocational education in landscape architecture was first offered in New Zealand at Lincoln University.

benefits of membership and how to join

what we do
The Institute has a quality assurance role. Members must undergo an examination in professional practice before becoming a Registered Member, and are encouraged to extend their knowledge and skill in their preferred areas of practice. Should it ever be necessary, the public can seek redress with the Institute over the conduct of a member.

The NZILA is building a sound reputation internationally, and particularly within the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA).
